After about 3 weeks, rectifier tube 36AM3 for RCA model 1-RD-45 clock radio arrived from Antique Electronic Supply. It is amazing how expensive it is to import those old radio parts to Brazil. The final cost is about 4.8 times the cost of the part at AES. Besides international S&H, that is normaly high, tax in Brazil is paid over the total invoice. It means, over products, S&H, and carrier, as well...Ufahhhh!!!

I'm in São Paulo city, best place in Brazil to get parts for old radios. I spent lots of time today at Santa Efigênia Street, electronic commercial area of the city.

I'm working on a RCA model 1-RD-45 clock radio from a friend of mine, Geraldo Tonon. Tube complement is unusual: 18FX6 as converter, 18FW6 as IF amp, 18FY6 as AVC, Detector, and Audio amp, 34GD5 as Output, and 36AM3 as Rectifier (burned, order placed at AES).
I guess, a little cleaning, change of electrolitic and rectifier is all it needs.
